Lotte Nouwkens (BE)

Originally from Belgium and a long-time resident of the Czech Republic, Lotte is the initiator of Dialogy v pohybu, a community project creating opportunities to meet through movement, dance and improvisation.

Her interest in Contact Tango grew through workshops with Javier Cura and the experience of how movement can bring people together, even when they have never met before.

Inspired by the sense of connection that emerges during these workshops, she began organizing Contact Tango jams in Brno, creating opportunities for the community to keep exploring and dancing together between workshops.

At the jams, Lotte facilitates the opening, welcoming participants, introducing the shared space and guiding the group into the beginning of the dance.

Through Dialogy v pohybu, she hopes to bring together people from Contact Tango, Argentine tango and other movement backgrounds, creating a welcoming environment for curiosity, play and connection.

Lotte has a background in contemporary dance, which she practised at a professional level. Today, alongside organizing Contact Tango events, she is passionate about Argentine tango and sport climbing.

She has completed a course in functional training and is fascinated by the human body — its capacity for movement and the interconnectedness of its many systems. Her interests include holistic approaches to health and well-being, as well as personal development through somatic and movement practices.
